The cutoff for estrogen and progesterone receptor expression in endometrial cancer revisited: a European Network for Individualized Treatment of Endometrial Cancer collaboration study

چکیده
There is no consensus on the cutoff for positivity of estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone (PR) in endometrial cancer (EC). Therefore, we determined value ER PR expression with strongest prognostic impact outcome. Immunohistochemical was scored as a percentage positive EC cell nuclei. Cutoff values were related to disease-specific survival (DSS) disease-free (DFS) using sensitivity, specificity, multivariable regression analysis. The results validated an independent cohort. study cohort (n = 527) included 82% grade 1–2 18% 3 EC. Specificity DSS DFS highest 1–30%. Sensitivity 80–90%. markers at 10% 80%. Consequently, three subgroups distinct clinical outcomes identified: 0–10% ER/PR with, unfavorable outcome (5-year 75.9–83.3%); 20–80% intermediate 93.0–93.9%); 90–100% favorable 97.8–100%). association between confirmed validation 265). We propose classification based high-risk (0–10%), intermediate-risk (20–80%), low-risk (90–100%) group.

متن کاملDistribution of estrogen and progesterone receptors isoforms in endometrial cancer
BACKGROUND 70-80% of sporadic endometrial carcinomas are defined as endometrioid carcinoma (EC). Early-stage, well differentiated endometrial carcinomas usually retain expression of estrogen and progesterone receptors (ER and PR, respectively), as advanced stage, poorly differentiated tumors often lack one or both of these receptors. Well-described EC prognosis includes tumor characteristics, s...
